I PITY THE FOOL (a poem composed by Aare Tunde Dawood-Akerele)

I pity the fool

For seeing education as nothing

Not ready to attend college

Nor learning a craft, trade

Still hopes to be great

Waiting for Miracles

Hmmm!

I pity the fool

For ignoring anything wrong in robbery

Defying the security, the law

Snatching others’ property

Killing men just like fowls

Forgetting the Waterloo

Hmmm!

I pity the fool

Believing not in tomorrom

Believing only in today

Believing not in God

Behaving like a god

What a pity!

Hmmmm!

I pity the fool

For not forgetting the wrong of others

For not forgiving his friends

For stoning his minds

Aiming others’ regret

Sadist, wicked

I pity the fool

For failing to say just I’m sorry

At the instance of wronging

A good fellow, a good wife

Allowed the relationship

Crash beyond remedy

 Prematurely

I pity the fool

Believing so much in himself

Not ready to change his mind

At the instance of superior argument

Concluded he’s an island of knowledge

I pity the fool

For not knowing that isolation kills

Never sharing ideas with others

Confides all things in himself

Takes no advice from others

Living like a recluse

I pity the fool

For not believing in giving

Enjoying his wealth all alone

Never foresees the unforseen

Disagreeing that tomorrow is pregnant

I pity the fool

A big tree looking down on a young one

Thinking every condition is permanent

Oblivious of the unexpected

Toying with his future

Acting ignorantly

Hmmm!

I pity the fool

For importing fake drugs into the nation

Wherein his family members reside

Always happy about the proceeds

But also witnessing their death

Only daily basis

In succession

I pity the fool

For voting in a wrong candidate

For peanut and bottles of beer

Claiming that he has collected

 His own shares of democracy

Forgetting tomorrow

Advance in penury

I pity the fool

For not investing his income

Not saving for the raining days

Spending like a father Christmas

Without minding the aftermaths

I pity the fool

Who despises the little beginning

Waiting for blessings from others

Hoping to become a panjandrum

Loves to live like a popinjay

Acting like an upstart

But remains stagnant

I’m sorry!

I pity a fool

For expecting others to pay him back

‘Cause he’s helped them in the past

Nagging, lamenting, complaining

Not ready to agree that

It doesn’t work that way

All the time

I pity the fool

For neglecting his family

At the mercy of concubine

Feeling on top of the world

Covering his foolishness with lies

Unknowing such enjoyment is fugitive

I pity the fool

For not fulfilling the electoral pledges

Now making himself unaccessible

Giving untenable excuses

Siphoning public funds

Hmmm! Unbelievably

There is another life

After power

I pity the fool

Calling himself a clergyman

Duping members in the name of God

Acting in contrary to the scripture

Twisting the words of God

To suit his selfish interest

Upon ephemerals

All is vanity

Hmmm!

I pity the fool

Who doesn’t prepare for the hereafter

Appreciating materialism in excess

Soaking deep in mundane affairs

Walloping in ungodly acts

Amplifying blasphemies

Celebrating sacrileges

Sponsoring evil shows

What a shame!

What a pity!

Hmmm!

April 2018

2019: I’m still in Ogun guber race – Gboyega Isiaka

Two-time gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state and 2019 governorship aspirant, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, has refuted rumours making the rounds that he has withdrawn from the governorship race.

According to him, persons responsible for the unfounded rumours of his potential step down are those threatened by his popularity and determination to govern the state next year.

Isiaka spoke on Friday at the Ogun Central Senatorial Extended Executive meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Notable among the dignitaries present at the meeting include a former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Chief Joju Fadairo, Director General, The Believe Movement, Otunba Kunle Adepitan, directors and other top members of the Movement in Ogun Central.

He said his resolve at contesting and winning the election convincingly is not in doubt, adding “life must be more abundant for our people in Ogun State from May 29, 2019 when I will be sworn in as the next governor of our dear State by the grace of God and support of Ogun State electorate”.

“I am not backing down from my governorship aspiration. I am in this end to the end and I will win the election convincingly”.

Isiaka, added that eduction and health would take the lion share of his administration’s attention when elected Governor.

“Education and health remain our priority. Education is important to us because it is a sure way to fast track meaningful development. We cannot afford to pay lip service to the provision of quality education in our gateway state.

“It is not enough to have model schools that are not functional, we must instill in our teachers a sense of commitment to proper training of our wards”. He stated.

Reasons why People of Osun State should vote for Hon Salam Shuaib Adewale as he is the best candidate for the the post of Governor

Our aspirant is from Ayedaade local government Ode Omu precisely under Osun west, we will try our best by God grace to ensure the desire of  peoole of Osun state will be fulfiled if you vote for our candidate.

Being devoted to your religion doesn’t stop you from participating in politics if you want good governance

Jesus was very popular but he lost election before Pilate.

The election was between Jesus and Barabas and Pilate represented INEC at the time. Barabas won and Jesus lost that election. Where were the 5000 he fed? Where were the 10 lepers? Where were the lame, and all those he healed? Where was the family of Lazarus and that of Jarius? That is the problem. The right people will not win election when believers refuses to participate in politics. Pls go and get your PVC.

THE REASON WHY WE YOUTHS MUST ARISE TO CONTEST AND WE SHALL WIN BY COMR AMB OGUNOLU SAMSIDEEN.O (Aspirant Member House of Assembly Irewole Isokan Constituency, Osun State)

It is not a rumor again that the present National Assembly  head by Dr Bukola Saraki The president of the senate and Yakubu Dogara The Speaker of House of Representatives respectively, They have given we youths chance to rule not only to be used as thugs during their campaign, We don’t need to be garrulous and we don’t need to impeding each other in this struggle let those among us that are ready to rule to start coming out  with their campaign strategies  so that we will know who and who to support irrespective of political party and tribe ,we are one and we must stand as one that is when we will win this race despite the facts that we don’t have money and sponsor  i.e. despites the facts that most of us were not born with silver spoon doesn’t mean we don’t have something upstairs to come out to contest in this country because the seat is not belong to them only and their children, this country belongs to all of us, I know and believe  that with sincerity, industrious,  diligence  and focus we shall win this battle and our ambition shall come to reality very soon by God grace. Some Months ago in France a 45 years old man won the seat of presidency as an independent candidate who stood confidently, industriously and diligently at the end he became the ever youngest president in the history of France, who says in Nigeria today we youths of today cannot become the president of Nigeria or we cannot become Governor, House of Assembly, Senators and others  is a lie anybody that say so already a dead mankind but has not been buried because a positive thinker will always say positive things and always work towards whatever he says so that it will finally come to reality.

If John Paul 24yrs old can be elected into the house of Parliament in Kenya, Who says we the youths of this great Nation Called “NIGERIA” can’t do the same.

My fellow Comrades and Youths let’s wake up from our slumber for God sake and divert the strength we are using to campaign for old caucus still at age of 60 years and above yet they refused to give we youths of today chance to display our potentials maybe we can lead or not. With 100% confident and believe, I want to courageously and sagaciously  say youths will take over, we shall stand for youths justice in this ongoing Re-structuring of our dear country, I want to remind the chairman of re-structuring committee Mallam El-Rufai and his committee to take not that in the course of the assignment to restructure our country don’t forget to add what will favour the youths of this country on what we have been clamoring for over 30 years ago that youths have not been given chance to involve in decision making at the three level of arms of the government which are Local Government,State and Federal so that we have implementation of freedom of speech and expression that will give us good result politically, economically, educationally and technologically.

We youths of this generation and leaders of today appreciate Dr Bukola Saraki and his members to consider Nigeria youths to participate in politics with the age approved for Governor, House of Representatives and president which we promise that by God grace we shall utilize the chance diligently and righteously. I want to Momentously tell my fellow Nigeria youths that Enough IS Enough if you have interest and you fall within the age bracket of 18 years to 45 years and you want to contest for any political position we shall stand to work for such person wholeheartedly and by God grace victory is ours irrespective of political party and tribe such person is from we shall stand together and we must win together. I am congratulating Nigeria Youths that our taken over is now not later.

MY PEN (a composed by Aare Tunde Dawood-Akerele)

My pen is mightier than a sword,

It is sharper than a knife,

It has no leg but can run faster than an antelope,

It has no feather but can soar smarter than an eagle,

It has mouth but cannot talk,

Yet, everyone can hear its voice,

It has no eye but only it can see and read through my thought./mind

My pen is ambidextrous,

It can make or mar,

It can scatter or gather the kings, the powerful and the wealthy,

It can cause or end a war,

It can destroy or rebuild a nation,

It can demolish or construct  a mansion,

It can chase away or foster unity and accord,

It can bring oneness and progress,

It can pursue or entrench peace and love.

Only me can describe the weight and strength of my pen.

Is it dreadful?

Is it friendly?

Yes to all.

I know how to use  my pen.

My pen is my power,

It is my strength,

It is my sword, also my tool,

It is my fortress.

My pen without a paper,

It is useless, weak and impotent,

Then it slumbers,

It feels shy and keeps silent.

My pen is not different from other pens,

Yet, it distinguishes me from others writers,

Because I know how to use it.

I can use any colour.

It’s my resolve that promotion of peace

Will be its major assignments,

Though, it will lampoon societal ills,

And speak truth to the power.

May its ink never run dry.

Making Of An Actor: Majid Michel Tutoring Script2Screen Africa Delegates For 4 Days

Maverick Ghanaian actor and Pastor, Majid Michel is in the camp of the delegates of Script2Screen Africa TV Reality Show 2018 for a 4-day tutoring on ‘The making of an actor’.

The popular and experienced role interpreter will be taking the delegates on the nitty gritty of acting in a dynamic environment.

Majid who has vowed to impact these next generational actors and prepare them for the task ahead however advised them to always be prepared for opportunities.

At the day one lecture which is taking place at Amen Estate, Eleko Beach road, Lagos, Majid said; “There is a difference between being ready and being prepared, because acting is a ghost, it will always be looking for someone to posses. Therefore, you have to make yourself readily available when the opportunity comes your way.”

He also charged them to work to the point of being appreciated by whoever the director on set might be and also posses the ability of delivering on a timeline.

“Until a director clapped for you on your efforts as an actor, you need to do more. You need to give more and be ready for each challenge as they surfaced.”

Married Woman Gang Raped In Front Of Her Husband In Cross River State

The Governor of Cross River State has directed the Attorney General of Cross River State Bar Abang to immediately prosecute the man who raped a young married woman in Okuni ikom. Along side 4 of his friends.

The gang rape happened at their cocoa farm in Okuni, where the victims husband and brother were tied up at Gun point while The wife was ganged raped in front of her husband until she passed out.

Last week women in Okuni marched in thousands to protest the ugly situation. Which alerted the Government to respond to the case.

The Honorable Commissioner for Health Cross River State, Dr Inyang Asibong and Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Betta Edu last Wednesday at Ikom consoled with the family of the gang rape victim and assured her that though justice has been delayed but the perpetrators will face the full wrath of law.

Speaking, Dr Inyang Asibong faulted the Nigerian Police for releasing the culprit and called it very terrible while reassuring everyone that the Cross River State Government will do everything to make sure the culprits are rearrested and made to face the law. She said the State Government will henceforth be responsible for the medical bill of the Lady and push for justice.

Earlier Speaking, the DG, Dr Betta Edu said this is injustice at the highest level and the people responsible have to be brought to book. She noted that Nigerian police must own up to their responsibilities.

“You cannot allow the woman go without justice. The woman was gang rape in front of her husband, she and her husband bullied off their farm by the rapist, which is their only source of livelihood. The Governor of Cross River State has called for immediate arrest of offenders and justice for the victim. Cross River State Government will provide every necessary support to the woman and take care of her medical care says empathic Dr Edu who was in tears while addressing the press in Ikom.

According to the DG, the incident took place in Okuni, Ikom Local Government Area on November 6, 2017, when gunmen attacked a cocoa plantation, stole some bags of cocoa, beat up the farmer and raped his wife till she became unconscious.

“Sadly, the major culprit, who was arrested along the process of justice was later released on bail without any sanction from the police in Ikom. She however noted later that due to the timely intervention of the Governor, the culprits have been rearrested and will be charged to court almost immediately.

The wife of the Governor Dr LINDA AYADE is very hard on this issue, she totally stands against any form of abuse to women or children and has promised to fight for justice.

Cross River State Government says no to any form of sexual abuse including rape and anyone caught will face the full wrath of Law. Victim was taken to General hospital Obubra for proper management..
