Masquerade Urges Nigerians To Get Their Voters’ Card Ahead Of 2019 Election.

2019 election will definitely be hot. While pastors, traditional rulers and other leaders are urging Nigerians to get their permanent voters card (PVC) to decide those who will rule us next year, masquerades appeared to have also joined in the process.

A masquerade in Kogi state was pictured seen urging citizens to get their voters’ card as he held a shirt with the inscription ‘2019 My PVC is not for sale’.

This reportedly happened at an event during the Easter festivity…

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) currently on-going across the nation would be temporarily stopped 60 days to the commencement of the 2019 general elections.

INEC had slated February 16th, 2019 as date for commencement of the next general elections.

THE PAIN OF MOTHERLESSNESS (a poem by Aare Tunde Dawood-Akerele) Sympathizing with every motherless child

The Pain of Motherlessness

Is far beyond measure

Especially for a green mind.

Begins from the shock of announcement

To illusion of preparing the corpse

To agony of witnessing the interment

Since Mama has gone

Though no more weeping

But mourning ceases not

O maa see o!

Since Mama has gone

I’ve been searching for substitute

But what an exercise in futility!

What a mirage!

The vacuum is beyond description

There’s limit to what wife can endure

There’s limit to what husband can tolerate

Theres limit to what baba can do

Only abiyamo tooto can play all the role.

O maa see o!

Since abiyamo has gone

Who has the gut to confront my foes?

No one dreams of me again

And begins to take steps at dawn

The pains of motherlessness

Is far beyond description

It’s agonising, it’s horrifying.

Since Mama has gone.

No one asked me for bread again

No one sent me wraps of locust beans

No free laps for my kids to play on

Children are crying but

No lullabies, no allegories

No warm hands to cuddle my head

No singing of lineage panegyrics

The pain is much.

All the graveyard promises

Are nothing but hollow rituals

The lacuna is unfillable

There’s only one abiyamo

Searching for any other one

Would be amounted a generational mirage.

The pain seems unending.

It’s beyond description.

To every motherless child

A dead mother is like a stolen rapper

Exposed to harmattan of life,

Unblocked from mosquitoes of life

No more cover, no more pillows

No more care but just little affection

The pains are enormous.

Imagine a visit to the village

Water offered by others

Not as the one from her pot.

Her room is no vacant

Who will say good bye with prayers?

Who will drop tears at parting?

The pain is beyond measure.

Not at home, leaving for a while

No one to claim my right for me

In her absence at the family meeting

Portions of shares reduced to meagre

Property unevenly distributed

Blames were wrongly apportioned.

The pain is much.

Here comes a warning

Oh! A motherless child

Never dares having back wound

Because it may not heal.

Exercise cautions always,be prayerful

As no one to tell the hard truth again

No one to condemn the misdeeds

No one to appreciate the good

No one to tell fore warning

Please, se jeje o!

A caring mother

A Shepherd to her child

A good mother

A stern cover to her breed

A lovely mother

A strong defence minister

Abiyamo aboja gbooro gbooro

O maa see o!

Continual peaceful rest

To all the late caring mothers.

God’s mercy with divine protection

For the all the motherless kids.

What a hard pill to swallow

O  tun daye atunwa

Ipade doju ala.

Ogun Pastor Allegedly Kills Lover For Rituals, Buries Her In His Church

The Ogun state police command have arrested the Pastor-in-charge of Holy Gathering Evangelical Church of God, Elijah Oluwatobiloba, for allegedly killing his lover and burying her body inside his church in the state.

The suspect, upon interrogation, claimed that he carried out the heinous act for reasons known to “him and God”.

The Commissioner of Police , Ahmed Iliyasu , said the command had received a report of a missing person.

He said that the case was reported by one Adebola Saheed , who stated that his younger sister, Raliat Sanni , 35 , had left home since March 21 and had yet to return.

He said the pastor, after discreet analysis of facts , was the last person who was seen with the missing person.

In the course of interrogation , he confessed to killing the victim and burying her inside his church after removing her head and two hands.

The police commissioner said the suspect named another accomplice, Daniel Sopeju. Fielding questions from newsmen, Elijah denied killing his lover, claiming the killing was done by Sopeju.

L

He said further that Sopeju led seven members of an occultic group to his house with the aim of luring him to become a member.

Elijah who claimed to be a teacher at Methodist High School (Private), Arigbajo, in Ifo, said the group ordered him to submit names of his church members and eventually picked the deceased name.

He said, “It was not true that I killed a woman, it was one Sopeju and a woman wanted to make me join their occultic group and they said that they are going to collect a ransom.

So they collected the names of my members and picked the name of Raliat. Having mentioned her name, they asked me where she was living and I told them she is living at Wasimi. They later got her and brought her to my church.

Sopeju brought out a knife and beheaded the woman and after beheading her, he collected her blood and put it in seven calabashes”.

When asked to react to the allegations, Sopeju denied all said by his friend but admitted they all belonged to white garment churches in the area.

Kanu Nwaknwo wants to run for office of the President of Nigeria in the 2019 elections.

Kanu who made his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in 1994 and later went to captain the team before he retired in 2011, is regarded as one of the finest football exports from Nigeria.

The former Arsenal made his declaration to run for the office of President after he stated that he took inspiration from former colleague George Weah  who is now the President of Liberia.

Kanu made his intentions known about a run for the Presidential office in a report by Goal.

The former Ajax and Inter Milan goal poacher stated that the reason he intends to run for office is to take care of the welfare of Nigerians.

He said, “My presence here today is about the future of our country and the happiness of our people,”

Kanu who is also the last Nigerian player to be crowned African Footballer of the Year stated that there has been a decline in all sectors in Nigeria which has fuelled his ambition to run for President.

Kanu also talked about the perceived corruption levels in Nigeria and that he aims to restore the country’s integrity if elected into office.

“Also, I’ll do all it takes to wrestle corruption which has become blatant and widespread. The rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption.”

ACCORD Party the credible alternative, the party for the grassroot – Chief Johnson Oyenekan

The Chairman of ACCORD Party in Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun State, Chief Johnson Olusegun Oyenekan popularly known as SS in his interview with NEWS WAKA NOW BLOG said ACCORD Party is a better alternative than alternative than All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in his Local Government Area “You cannot point to any particular project the local government has done because the Leadership of APC in the state does not give room for such.

He said ACCORD Party government would ensure that our local government areas and local Council Development Area are properly funded in order for them to meet the needs of the people. He said the people were grossly disappointed with the APC and the PDP has lost focus and members are grossly divided with some following Gbenga Daniel, some Buruji Kashamu, and others following Ladi Adebutu. He said each of the three groups in the PDP was bedeviled with candidate imposition and other undemocratic norms, which made them to leave the party.

As for APC, the government at both the state and Federal levels have lost their bearings. There is poverty all over the country, herdsmen are moving around with AK 47 riffles, no security and the corruption the claim to be fighting is still very rampant said Chief Oyenekan. He said the people now know better and they are looking for alternatives as the two parties (APC & PDP) are nowhere to be found in the heart of the people.

The ACCORD Chieftain in Abeokuta South said ACCORD has been  mobilising and the party can be found in every local government in the state. He said aspirants who are of repute bhave been romancing the Leadership of ACCORD Party and the party would field those who would implement the manifesto of the party and embrace party discipline

“For Abeokuta South there are weighty aspirants for the State Assembly and Federal house of Representative and by the time ACCORD Party unveil governorship aspirants, people of Ogun State will know that we mean business” the Chairman said.

Why I Slit My Boyfriend’s Neck" – Mother Of 2 Confesses

Sapele – Nunu Allround, the 30 year old mother of two who slit the throat of her ex lover Obagie Ikede, 32 yaer in Sapele, Delta State has denied the allegation that her action was as a result of Ikede’s insistence on ending their five months old love affair.

Nunu who spoke to News Waka Now Blog from her hide-out said: ‘all what Obage said was not true, though we have been dating for five months as claimed, Obagie has been treating me bad and I have been enduring so many abuses from him, who was looking un-kept and visibly distressed.

She added that though they had been having problems they had a way of settling it. We loved each other and it was never intentional that this happened. He slapped me and I was angry. The razor blade was not meant to harm him, I had actually bought the razor blade to cut my nails but when he came shouting angrily that I had reported him to his mother, which led to him slapping me, I attacked him out of provocation. I am sorry for what happened. It is the devil’s handwork. I want Obagie and his family to forgive me. I still love him and I am sure he loves me too,” Nunu pleaded.

POLITICIANS DEPENDING ON MONEY AND RIGGING WILL BE PUT TO SHAME IN 2019 ELECTIONS – OTUNBA ROTIMI PASEDA

A governorship aspirant on the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has said that the power of money or election rigging would not be determinants to who wins elections come 2019.

Paseda who disclosed this while speaking to journalists at the official declarations of some aspirants on the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria Ogunn State Chapter for the State House of Assembly at the party’s Secretariat in Abeokuta insisted that any politician who rely on money or rigging would be put to shame and disappointed.

He said only credible and popular candidates with people oriented programmes will win at the polls.

The founder of Paseda Legacy Foundation stated that the “Country is seriously facing hard times now,  the suffering is much, people need a true change like somebody like me, hence money and rigging will definitely be put to shame as people will vote according to their conscience.”

“In the next three months now, you will see the clouds coming down. We are not going to give them a free ride like we did last time, we have already gained the consciousness of the people, they want a true change but not deception”.

Paseda said “many of the Assembly members we have now are stooges they are rubber stamps. I am not going to choose anybody as house of assembly member we are going to advice them to go ahead and challenge me to do more they should be able to ask me questions on why are we spending this money why should we waste resources and so on like that.

He said the youth “have the capacity, they have the gut to stand up and challenge you for a purposeful governance. Ogun State have suffered long enough and that is the only way we can have a headway. Put fresh people that are youths in the assembly.”

Paseda opined that only three major issues have been drawing  the society backwards and they are religion, ethnicity and concentration of projects in one Senatorial district at the detriment of the others”.

“We have three ills that is plaguing our society today, they are religion. Segregation by religion, we need to remove that from our politics,” he said. “The second is the discrimination by ethnicity, you are this I am that,  you are Hausa you are Igbo,  that must stop we must discourage it.

“The other thing is impacting negatively on a region and impacting positively on another region which is otherwise known as discrimination according to senatorial district. If you look at Ogun State today you will find out that distribution of projects is not equitable at all.

“Ogun Central has nearly everything. Ogun East, I will say it is next, but Ogun West, the Yewa, I will say there is nothing there. It is not developed and it is as if they are abandoned, it is as if they are not part of Ogun State. That is my priority, to distribute common wealth among the three senatorial district; like our late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo did”.

In her welcome address the State Chairman of Unity Party of Nigeria,  Alhaja Aminat Olatunbosun called on all members to redouble their efforts in membership drive adding that UPN remains the only hope of the masses now.

Her words, “PDP has been in government,  they failed the people,  APC is there now,  they also failed,  people are now looking unto UPN as the solution to the myriads of problems facing the State,  we are now telling them that we are going to deliver and salvage the State from the shackles of oppression and maladministration”.

JAMB Change of Course/Institution Form 2018/2019 is Out Online – See Guidelines

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board,2018/2019 JAMB Change of Course andInstitution has COMMENCED! THIS is to inform all the candidates who participated in the 2018 JAMB UTME that the change of JAMB course and/or institution for 2018 Session has commenced

There are obviously three good reasons why a candidate may need to change his/her jamb choice of course or institution or both:

LOW JAMB SCORE: After the release of Jamb results, the next thing to face is admission screening exercise and admissions. Now take for instance that someone applied for a federal university of technology, Minna who will probably fix a cut-off mark of 200 and above; if such candidate scored less than 200, it simply means he/she has lost the admission. In this case the change of institution to a state-owned/private University becomes necessary. State universities generally fix cut-off marks below 200.

INCOMPLETE O”LEVEL RESULTS: In this case candidates who may have ran into deficiency of required credit passes in some key/relevant subjects may decide to go for change of course to accommodate themselves.

MISTAKES DURING REGISTRATION: Was there a mistake while filling your registration by either you or the business/cyber cafe? With this help, you can now correct any errors made during registration of your course or institution.

OTHER CHALLENGES: These includes several factors ranging from finance, change in Geographical locations, Parent’s suggestions, Fear of Tribal differences, etc. Such cases treated under this heading result to change of institution.

N/B: Change of course and institution can only be done once and you can only change to a course relating to your UTME Subject combination. To know if the course you want to change to aligns with your UTME subject combination, visit our online JAMB brochure by Clicking Here

ADO EKITI WENT AGOG AS AKOGUN BANJI OJO DECLARED FOR GOVERNOR EKITI 2018

It was like a carnival earlier today in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital when Akogun Banji Ojo moved a step further for the actualization of his dream to occupy the governorship seat at Oke Ayaba after the July 14 2018 election by making his intension known officially to the Party, Accord both at the National, State and Local government levels. Akogun Banji Ojo Campaign organisation led by its Director General Chief Ade Ayeni converged at Omolayo area along Ikere road, Ado Ekiti as early as 11am.
Th
e convoy of ABO Ekiti 2018 of not less than 200 vehicles moves majestically through the major road of Ado Ekiti amidst waves and jubilations from Ado Ekiti residents. The over seven kilometers movement caused serious traffic gridlocks but all security apparatus were put in place to forestall breakdown of laws and order. A popular musician supported by boys brigades added glamour to the show.
The yellow coloured flag of Accord were being waved and displayed by all and sundries. Ado Ekiti stood still for the historic declaration. Monmouth crowd was on ground to welcome the entourage at the party secretariat along Iworoko road, where the declaration took place. People from all walks of life were in attendance to witness the declaration.
The National leadership of the party was led by Prince (Dr) Doyin Okupe while all the six South west Chairmen of the party graced the declaration among who are: Elder Isiaka Amusa of Ogun, Dr Ambode of Ondo, Alhaji Mudasiru Ogunsola of Oyo, Chief Gbenga Cole of Lagos, Otunba SEGUN Fanibe of Osun and the Chief host Chief Samuel Abiola Odeoba among others. Presenting the aspirant Akogun Banji Ojo and his letter of intents to the state Executives, the DG of ABO Ekiti 2018 Chief Ade Ayeni thanks the entire Accord family for given his candidate the opportunity to express his interest to contest the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election on the party’s platform.
The state chairman of the party Chief Samuel Odeoba while receiving the aspirant on behalf of the state Executive council promised to work assiduously for the success of the party at the polls. All the southwest states Chairmen of the party spoke gloriously about the personalities of the aspirant and his dodged commitment to get positive results despite all odds. they expressed their total support in whatever form for the success of the party at the polls.
In what looks like a Prayer warriors gathering, the National leader of the party Dr Doyin Okupe personally led a Special prayer session for the success of the candidate and the party at large. Speaking further, from the realm of the spirit, he has foreseen a situation where Akogun Banji Ojo and his team occupies Ekiti state government house. He told the gatherings that the present occupiers of Ekiti government house – Gov Fayose and his group have had their time and that Fayose cannot give Ekiti people his Unfitted extra tyre in person of Kolapo Eleka as governor. He implored Ekiti people to embrace Accord as the only option for the liberation of Ekiti state from the present political and economic shackles.
However, in the native language of Ekiti people, the aspirant, Akogun Banji Ojo thanks the party at all levels for their supports. He pledge to pursue and implement the party’s manifestoes faithfully if given the mandate. The Agric revolutions shall be given utmost priority thus: 100,000 hecters of Cocoa plantation within 3 years across the state, Igbemo Ekiti Rice revolution, Banana/Plantain farms at Ilawe and other towns and villages in the state; Free Education on ICT, Social security for the aged, Establishment of Five agric based cottage industries across the state within four years; Youth Empowerments/ Human Capital developments and lots more as contains in our manifestoes and Blue Print/Master plan. He equally encourage all eligible voters to get their voters card, guide it jealously and must not allow fraudulent politicians to purchase it from them with money. There were merriments and musical galores all throughout the periods the event lasted. It was indeed, Mother of all declarations.

PRESS RELEASE – Ogun 2019: SENATOR ADEOLA YAYI DISSOCIATES SELF FROM CAMPAIGN POSTERS

PRESS STATEMENT

Ogun 2019: SENATOR ADEOLA YAYI DISSOCIATES SELF FROM CAMPAIGN POSTERS

The attention of the office of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola aka Yayi (APC, Lagos West), the chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content has been drawn to political campaign posters being posted over night in some parts of Ogun state purporting to announce the commencement of his campaign for the Ogun State governor in 2019.

The Senator dissociate himself completely from ill conceived and ill- motivated  gimmick of his political opponents to portray him in bad light as the posting of such posters is clearly a breach of the Electoral Law of Nigeria and  against the timetable of Independent National  Electoral Commission (INEC)  for which such poster pasting is a contravention.

“As a law abiding citizen and a law maker of over 14 years standing presently serving at the highest legislative body in Nigeria, I am not one to be seen to break any law of Nigeria in pursuit of any political or other goals. By the electoral law of Nigeria it is illegal for any aspirant for elections in 2019 to begin political campaign as portrayed in the planted poster of me springing up in parts of Ogun State.” the senator stated.

The senator noted that he is aware of many vested interests that are afraid of his daily soaring acceptability as a grassroots politician and would plot any evil deed to portray him as a law breaker and possibly exclude him from participation in any political contest in 2019.

Senator Adeola said that presently what is going on in Ogun state are consultations among relevant stakeholders on Ogun 2019 adding that he remains the duly elected senator of Lagos West and will continue to represent them fully in all ways.

He appeal  to his numerous supporters and well wishers in Ogun State to continue to remain calm and steadfast as ever.

Signed:

Chief Kayode Odunaro

Media Adviser to Senator Adeola
