Obituary And ‘Burial’ Of Saraki By Senator Omo-Agege’s Constituency

This is very sad…talking about the lengths people go just because of politics. An obituary banner was designed for the ”burial” of senate president, Bukola Saraki over the suspension of senator Ovie Omo-Agege representing Delta Central at the National Assembly.

The banner which was purportedly designed by some constituents in Delta state – was done to announce the political death of the senate president for ”conspiring” against their lawmaker to suspend him as they held a ‘burial’ for him (Saraki) few days ago in Abraka.

Meanwhile, contrary to belief in some quarters that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was suspended over his opposition to the election reordering bill, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has said the senator representing Delta Central was sanctioned for taking the Senate to court.

Taking the Senate to court, according to Saraki, smacks of gross indiscipline, which should not be condoned by the upper chamber. Omo-Agege, who was billed to appear before the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions over his comments on the amendment of Electoral Act, 2018, had sued the Senate in a bid to stop his appearance.

NOUN Raises Alarm over Fake Exam Questionaire

The attention of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has been drawn to a publication in the social media in which a purported examination questionnaire titled “School of Education Course Code GST 103” was circulated as a document emanating from the University. In the fake exam sheet, four questions were posed, built around His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent statement on the Nigerian youth. Each question was said to attract 30 marks if answered correctly.

The so-called examination questionnaire issued by “Henry Osas” had nothing to do with NOUN as all our exams were concluded long before His Excellency the President’s visit to the United Kingdom where he delivered the speech Osas quoted.

Even though some might consider the document invented and circulated by “Henry Osas” and his co-travellers as a mere social media joke, we believe that the use of the hallowed name of the National Open University of Nigeria and its official logo to transmit the joke was done with mischief. We take serious exception to the use of our well-respected identity for such unpatriotic and unbecoming behaviour.

NOUN has filed a formal complaint with the security agencies with a plea to fish out the culprit(s) behind this mischief with the view to taking the appropriate legal action against them.

2019: EX-CBN BOSS,  MOGHALU PROMISES 2 MILLION POLICE RECRUITMENT IF ELECTED PRESIDENT -Moghalu, former CBN deputy governor

A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, says he would recruit two million policemen if he is voted in as Nigeria’s president in 2019.

He said this on Tuesday during a town Hall meeting organized by Progressive Group of Nigeria (PGN) held at the Nigeria Union Journalists, Ogun Council secretariat, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, during his consultation and meeting with the youth and market women in Ogun state on his presidential ambition.

Moghalu, who said he would declare his ambition and political platform next month, added that currently with about 300,000 policemen policing a country with 200 million population, this was grossly inadequate.

He said with this recruitment exercise a lot of unemployed Nigerians would be gainfully employed.

Moghalu also hinted that he would equally introduced massive venture capital from which unemployed Nigerians with business proposals could draw funds to actualise their proposals.

He explained that this was far better than the current social investment fund, in which the current administration dole out N5,000 each to unemployed graduates.

He said, “From day one, if I become president of Nigeria, I will tackle unemployment. I will create a massive venture capital to which unemployed Nigerians could submit their business proposals.

” This will be an equity capital and not a loan. As I said earlier, I am going to recruit two million policemen. The current scenario where about 300,000 are policing a population of 200 million people is a joke.

“With this recruitment, two million people would have been taking off the unemployment market. The social investment fund by the current administration does not solve unemployment. How will giving N5,000 every month to a graduate solve unemployment?”

For those saying there was no alternative to President Muhammadu Buhari, Moghalu noted that this was a wrong assumption, as there was insecurity all over the country.

He said, “All those saying there is no alternative to the current administration are saying there is no alternative to killings by herdsmen,  there is no alternative to poverty, there is no alternative to the general insecurity in the country. Do you wait till herdsmen come and kill you in your house?”

Speaking earlier to the youth and market women across the state who had gathered at the meeting, Moghalu said if elected his administration would deploy electronic security system  across the country, in which security threats and breaches could be tracked over a distance and nipped in the bud.

Professor Kingsley Moghalu meets the youths and women in Abeokuta promises to end foreign policy scandals if elected as President

While addressing the people who were present at the town hall meeting, he said he was at the town hall meeting to listen to people and also talk to them. He stated the reasons why we need to create a better future – ” the women constitute 51% of our total population while the youths constitute 70% of the total population of Nigeria.

Moghalu while speaking, he said “our national leadership have failed us, we need to create a good government which can create jobs for over thirty millions (30 millions), what we need is not just a traditional leader but  technocrats who can bring us all together, we want a good economy where we don’t need to import everything, Nigerians should be led by the youths with vision, we don’t need to recycled politicians.

Talking about his agenda for women, Moghalu said if elected as the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, there would be equal opportunities for both gender, encourage and support businesses owned by women through a scheme called “Invention Capital Fund”.

Professor Kingsley Moghalu, said his administration when elected would ensure that there is total war against poverty, create millions of jobs and  restructure Nigeria.

Professor Moghalu spoke on security challenges, he said Nigerian Police Force has three hundred and fifty thousand personnel and one hundred and fifty thousand out of the three  hundred and fifty thousand personnel are securing the elites – he said he would employ two million police personnel in order to have more efficient personnel with adequate training. He also said he would put a stop to herdsmen’s rascality because it is nonsense.

While answering questions from students, market women, non indigenes and other stakeholders – he said “foreign policy scandals will be put to an end, foreign policies will be reformed”. Female genders will also have access to quality education, finance, marital right and women entrepreneurship would be encouraged. He also enjoined women to participate in politics.
