At a press conference held today Wednesday 9th of May, 2018 at Ilesa, the family house of Eso dynasty will support one of their own to become the next and fifth governor of Osun State in the 2018 election.

A tycoon and industrialist who is one of the elder brothers of Tunde Eso, a leading governorship aspirant in Osun State under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party, said Tunde has made the family proud as he has been doing extremely well  in his bid for the past two years. According to him, “Tunde Eso is my brother and I’m proud of him; he has at least maintained the dignity  of the family and used the family name well by showing to the world that we have intellectuals who can run the affairs of our beloved state. Therefore, we have  unanimously agreed to back him with 2billion naira so that he can succeed in his aspiration”.

Tunde Eso at the meeting emphasised that the contest is a vision but also a collective mandate of everyone. “We the Eso family of ilesa have produced one of the best jurists in Nigeria in the person of late Justice Kayode Eso.” he said.

Tunde Eso has promised the family that he will not put them to shame and also appealed to Osun State indigenes  at home and abroad to support him as he is the youngest and the best person for Osun State governorship contest at this moment

2019: PASEDA DENIES DEPUTISING GNI

Otunba Rotimi Paseda has debunked the rumour that he steping-down his gubernatorial ambition to deputise Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.

Paseda debunked the widespread rumour through his Media Assistant on media Ogbeni Micheal-Azeez Ogunsiji through a press release.

2019: PASEDA DENIES DEPUTISING GNI

PRESS RELEASE

It has been brought to our notice once again at Paseda Media Team the widespread and concocted rumour that the Ogun 2015 UPN governorship candidate, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has stepped down his 2019 governorship ambition for Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka or has agreed to deputise for anyone.

Though, Otunba Paseda and Prince Gboyega Isiaka are good jolly friends who shared the same political aspiration and ideologies, but their friendship does not in any way transcend above their ambition.

It is no hidden fact that, the UPN governorship candidate is working with other parties and political structures for Ogun State Alliance and Coalition with about seven opposition parties signifying interest in working with him.

To set the record in clear terms, Otunba Paseda is still committed to contest for the Ogun state Governorship seat in 2019 and at the appropriate time, he would announce his campaign programmes to the electorate.

The canard rumour was orchestrated by those jittery about the emergence of Otunba Paseda as the consensus candidate of the Coalition movement to cause unnecessary unrest within Otunba Paseda political camp.

I therefore implore all the teeming supporters of Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda to discountenance the purported rumour and remain unshaken in their pursuant for better Ogun State come 2019 with Otunba Paseda as their governorship candidate.

All party members and supporters of Otunba Rotimi Paseda are hereby enjoined not to join any disruptive and destructive political game by retaliating with anyone for rumour in his favour or against him.

was officially declared free from Tuberculosis yesterday after series of test confirmed me negative – Asoro

At a press interview granted to me during our last TB symposium. I did made my experience with Tuberculosis public including the challenges. But for emphasis sake, any cough that persisted too long should not be taken for granted. Other symptoms of tuberculosis include night sweat, fever, loss of weight and so on. Duty behooves on us to refer any of the people who have these signs to a DOT centre for immediate sputum test.

Failure to do that is dangerous, the life of the said patient is not only in danger, those who came in contact with him/her are also in big danger.

People who have health challenges do not need be discriminated against, they need love and support to overcome the challenge.

I thank everyone who stood with me throughout the time, including those who saw to the success of our TB symposium.

It is not over until it is over, your support is continually needed until TB finds no place in our society.

Together we can always win.

Fayemi shuns reporters, walks out of Tinubu’s meeting with Ekiti aspirants

Kayode Fayemi, minister of mines and steel, walked out of the meeting which Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and some party leaders held with the governorship aspirants of the APC in Ekiti state, on Tuesday.

The meeting took place at the Lagos state government house in Asokoro, Abuja.

Some of the party leaders in attendance were Bisi Akande, pioneer chairman of the party; Segun Osoba, former Ogun state governor; Niyi Adebayo, former Ekiti state governor; and Pius Akinyelure; zonal vice chairman of the APC in the south-west.

After discussing for like two hours, they agreed on a break.

The minister, who walked out of the room ahead of other aspirants and party leaders, ignored reporters who approached him.

He entered his car and his driver sped off.

But Akande who spoke with journalists said the outcome of the meeting would be presented to the national working committee (NWC) of the party.

Asked if there were discussion on a consensus candidate, he said it is an option since the party’s constitution is not against it.

“Primary election is already written in our constitution but all we want is the happiness the generality of the leadership, the contestants and our party in general,” Akande said.

“We took a decision on what will be the best advantage to our party and the country. Consensus is already written in our constitution and it is an option.”

When asked if the aspirants agreed on a consensus candidate, Akande said they were asked to think about it and report back to the leaders.

Asked to comment on the cancellation of Saturday’s primary, Akande said he was not part of the process but said he would be part of avoid the repeat of the incident.

When the meeting reconvened around 7:30pm, other aspirants were there but Fayemi and Ayo Arise, a former senator, were not seen.

Tanko Al-Makura, governor of Nasarawa state, and chairman of the election committee, joined the second part of the the meeting.

Akande speaking with journalists at the end of the meeting

After the botched primary, Fayemi accused Babafemi Ojudu, a presidential aide, and Bimbo Adaramola, a former member of the house of representatives, of conspiring to thwart the exercise, which he claimed was in his favour.

Delegates from four local government areas had concluded voting when the exercise was disrupted. Fayemi said he was leading in the votes cast.

The APC leadership has fixed July 11 for a fresh primary.

THE LAZY YOUTHS ARE NOT YET BORN (A Poem Composed by Aare Tunde Dawood-Akerele)

Our youths!

Are not only ready

But also ever desperate

To work, to earn, to feed

Without minding the nature

Of that kinds of jobs available

For them to do in order to survive

Roaming the streets like scavengers

Working like elephants, getting poor rewards.

Hawkers

Inside the traffic

Selling water, snacks

Daring death, fearing not

Running after bikes, cars, lorries

Dribbling like Ronaldo in between

Molue, danfo, oko asewo and my car

Are not alliens but from within, among us

Many of them had served the land after graduation

Hoping to bring their certificates out of the box one day

The Surulres had settled for such undignified jobs

The Olorunsogos are forced into robbery, kidnapping, cyber crimes, money rituals.

However, no youths folding arms, waiting for free food.

Uncountable

In different markets

Owode Onirin, Idumota

Computer village, Ladipo, Aba

Alaba, Onitsha, Chinese Markets

Our youths are always hardworking

Many do three different jobs in a day

Working like mad in the land of honey

Yet living like pauper, looking not well fed

Our youths are illegal emigrants

Searching for greener pastures

Millions of them now in the Europe

United States, Asia, Scandinavia, Africa

Scrambling for citizenship, work permits

Many had been deported umpteenth times

Still manoeuvring to sneak out there

To settle for menial jobs, peanuts

Unhappy, unsatisfied, but no option

The lazy youths are not here

Seems they are not yet born

Really, they don’t exist

In our midst

At all.

Education

Many parents

Could not afford

To pay the bills all alone

Many orphans are in the  universities,

struggling to become somebody in life

Against all the odds, glueing to prayers

Gallivanting from one hill to cathedral

Fasting, resuming marathon vigils daily

Ignorantly, falling into the hands of fox

Camouflaging in the clergy’s garments

The gluttons in power often insensitive

Busy increasing the bills, owing salaries

Bastardising  public school education

By promoting incessant strike actions

Establishing private ones on hectares

I’m still searching

For the lazy youths

Do I need a binocular?

Search engine or compass?

Or sharp lens like a crystal ball?

Ok, maybe they are not yet here

Or maybe they aren’t yet being born

Or the power lied against their existence

The lazy youths are neither here nor born.

If the youth are lazy

The leaders are lazier,

Even greedier than tortoise

More selfish beyond description

Give no space for the youths to grow

In their various cabinets, departments

Monopolising, cornering every opportunity

Among the tired and aged strikers and their allies

Who were the beneficiaries

Of the free education, free health care?

The so-called leaders in power and who

During their days in the universities

Never cooked nor paid for accommodation

Eat free food like birds in a rice plantation

Alas! They all gang against this generation

Very impossible for the innocent youths

To live, to achieve in the land of paradoxical plenty

Propaganda, hollowed promises are the prevalence.

Unlike then

No more scholarships

For the poor students

For the outstanding ones

School fees become Herculean task

The youths are still struggling to feed

To live, to learn, to survive, to belong

Feeding is now as difficult as digging for gold

Government’s presence is hard to feel or taste

The youths are creating jobs where there is none.

It’s a pity!

That the leaders

Are trying to shift

The blames of their

Failure, shortcomings

On the ever dutiful youths.

He was called for a trial last two years by Gateway FC and Shooting Stars of Ibadan, but Akeem claimed he was having a serious ankle problem which stopped him from playing.

Until his death, Akeem Yekini was living together with his mother in Ijagbo, Kwara state, and he is survived by two daughters.
