OGD,  KASHAMU, BEN BRUCE MEET

Three chieftains and national leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), namely ex-Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel (popularly known as OGD); Senator Buruji Kashamu and Senator Ben Bruce met today in Abuja with a view to resolving the issues that have bedevilled the Ogun State chapter of the party over the years.

At a closed door meeting, which lasted for over three hours, the two major figures in the face-off, OGD and Kashamu, discussed all the issues and resolved them.

Consequently, they have agreed to work together in the interest of the party and the good people of Ogun State.

It was resolved that given OGD’s pedigree as the only former Governor produced by the PDP in Ogun State as well as a two-term Governor of the state, he would lead the party in the state to victory.

Informed sources say that immediately the news of the meeting filtered to the authentic leadership of the State chapter of the party,  Engr. Adebayo Dayo, it hailed the move, describing it as “a welcome development that will gladden the heart of all and sundry”.  See pictures taken at the end of the meeting below:

JUST IN: Saraki speaks on police summon, alleged link to Offa robbery suspects

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Sunday declared that he was willing to honour the invitation of the police, once he formally receives it.

Mr Saraki also denied that he has any links to any of the robbery suspects arrested for their roles in the Offa bank robbery. The robbery caused the death of about 33 people including police officers.

The Nigeria Police earlier on Sunday said some of the arrested Offa robbery suspects confessed that Mr Saraki and Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, were their sponsors.

In his statement Sunday night signed by his spokesperson, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Mr Saraki said being linked to the Offa robbery suspects is a plot “concocted to embarrass” him.

Read Mr Saraki’s full statement below.

The attention of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has been drawn to a story circulating online and apparently derived from a Press Conference addressed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Moshood Jimoh, linking him (Saraki) to the Offa robbery.

Dr Saraki will want the entire public to disregard this claim as a baseless allegation and another ploy by the Police to implicate him by all means. “Let it be known that there is no way I could have been associated with armed robbery against my people.”

“When the Offa robbery incident happened, I was the first top public official to pay a visit to the place and right there in the palace of the traditional ruler, I put a call through to this same Mr. Ibrahim Idris, the IGP, requesting him to make certain specific security arrangements as demanded by the people.

“Members of the public will remember that on May 16, 2018, I alerted the Senate about the information passed on to me by my State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatai Ahmed, over a plot by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to frame me up by getting some suspected cultists arrested in Ilorin to implicate me. It is believed that the timely leakage of the plot in that case aborted the use of the suspected cultists to implicate me. Now, it is the Offa bank robbery suspects that are about to be used.

“This plot is concocted to embarrass me and, in the mind of the IGP, it is his own response after his refusal to honour the invitation by the National Assembly, headed me, for him to come and offer explanations on the rampant killings and violence across the country.

“Like the earlier one, this frame-up will also fail as I hereby state categorically that I have no link with any band of criminals.

“As a person who has utmost respect for the rule of law and all constitutional institutions, when the invitation from the Police is formally extended to me, I will be ready to honour it without any delay.

“It is however sad that this abuse of the criminal investigation process aimed at intimidating and over-overawing the legislature, thereby obstructing it from doing its work, is a big threat to our democracy “, the Senate President stated.

Reasons why I want to be Ekiti Governor – Babatunde Alegbeleye

Babatunde Oladapo Alegbeleye who is the Chairman of BOA Foundation in Ekiti State, is the Governorship Candidate of the National Democratic Liberty Party (NDLP) for the July 14th 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti State.

Mr. Alegbeleye hails and originated from the Baisaya Compound, Atiba, Uro Quarters in Ikere Ekiti, South Senatorial District, Ekiti State of Nigeria. During his interaction with the group of pressmen in Ado Ekiti, the State Capital, he stated that Ekiti State has been far behind in entrepreneurial development, and promised to Industrialise the State through his knowledge and understanding that Money has to serve and not to rule. He stated further that, he shall democratize access to money; propose tax incentives for qualified manufacturing companies to make our state attractive for businesses if elected by the people of the state.

He also said that, the challenge of Ekiti youths will as well be resolved through sustainable Empowerment, which he has been doing even before his aspiration of becoming Governor of the State, also, by changing our education curriculum, to prepare our youths with skills for employment and to create entrepreneurial opportunities. He also reaffirmed his earlier stand on his plan to invest in Agriculture, which will decrease poverty; increase locally grown foods for the citizens at affordable prices; create related jobs in transportation; supplies; packaging and micro-finance, which will also increase outstanding public services that will improve and enhance a high quality life for all.

When asked why he wants to be Governor of Ekiti State, the only homogenous State in the Country, Mr. Alegbeleye said, he believes that Ekiti State Government needs a structural change to how it delivers the needed services to its citizens. The renowned Leadership expert, Mr. Babatunde Oladapo Alegbeleye, who is the Governorship candidate of NDLP in the July 14th, 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti State, stated further that, the high level of poverty in the State is as a result of a scandal, when the State has so many riches and resources for everyone. He said, both previous and present government have failed the citizens of the State, also goes further that, his case is not about what the State can do for him, rather, it is what he can do for the State.

When asked that why he thinks he is the best man for the Job, the said Governorship Candidate of NDLP affirmed that, every citizen in Ekiti State expects a Governor to champion his or her cause, and he, Babatunde Oladapo Alegbeleye through  his understanding of the yearnings of an average Ekiti people has already prepared for the job. He said further that, he is exited for the opportunity to serve. According to him, his priority is to provide opportunities for the youths, and provide a better life for the senior citizens. While addressing the pressmen, he assured the good  people of the state that, he is bringing his wealth of knowledge and years of experience for
the development of Ekiti, the “Fountain of knowledge, and land of honour.” Also promised that, if elected, the citizens can count on his honesty to provide full disclosure and ensure seamless access to all state services, and will ensure transparency in all public spendings and be very vigorous in stemming wasteful expenditures. Alegbeleye described this period in Ekiti State as a challenging period, and asserted that the State deserves and requires someone who is committed and understands how an efficient government works.

The Governorship candidate of NDLP, Mr Alegbeleye appealed to Ekiti electorates to be upright and not to allow Money bags politicians to buy their conscience and later put them into another years of misrule. According to him, it is time for the people of Ekiti State to be liberated from the economy decimation.

Mass defection looms in APC as 5 Governors, 28 Senators join forces with nPDP

Aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who constitute the new People’s Democratic Party, nPDP bloc in the ruling party appear set to re-enact their pre-2015 election feat that led to the destabilization and eventual defeat of the then ruling party, PDP.

This time, however, the APC may be the loser as leaders of the nPDP bloc will soon lead hundreds of their followers and supporters out of the ruling party back to the PDP at the “injury time.” Beside Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and Speaker.

News Waka Now Blog gathered authoritatively that five serving APC governors, 28 Senators and 70 members of the green chamber of the National Assembly have joined forces with the nPDP bloc to move en masse from the APC in a matter of weeks.

Reliable sources within the group told our Correspondent in Abuja on Friday that two of the serving governors are from North Central, another two from North East and one from North West (Their names withheld by us). It was further learnt that talks are still on to get at least three more APC governors to bring the total number to eight.

The calculation within the group, it was also gathered, is to move into PDP and have at least equal number of state governors with the APC, if not more ahead of the 2019 polls. By the arrangement, the bloc will also give PDP the majority in both chambers of the National Assembly.

Two dates have already been set for the mass defection. The first is immediately after the APC national convention at the end of this month. The party had in May scheduled the convention for Saturday, June 23.

A statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi also added that “inauguration of new party executives will subsequently hold on Monday, June 25, 2018”. The party has had difficulty picking a date for its convention with the exercise having being postponed about five times in one year. Before now, the party had reportedly settled for June 2 for its national convention but some stakeholders were said to have pushed for the new date.

If the mass defection fails after June 25, leaders of the bloc alongside their supporters will announce their decision towards the end of July, when lawmakers will embark on their annual break, Saturday Sun also gathered.

Meetings scheduled for Mecca

To perfect some of these arrangements, Saturday Sun gathered that the ongoing lesser hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia has provided a great opportunity for the coalescing political forces to hold meetings far away from the prying eyes of security agents in Nigeria. It was gathered authoritatively that most of the meetings will hold at different venues between Monday, June 4th and Wednesday, June 6th in Mecca.

It was also learnt that the annual Islamic prayer event will equally give pro-Buhari forces the time to plan their counter-offensive. While confirming the meetings in Mecca, a top leader of nPDP told Saturday Sun on Friday that “the lesser hajj this year has turned to a perfect opportunity for various groups to consolidate political meetings because the President is not the Buhari we voted for. All is not well at all.”

Legal tangle

Part of the political machinations against the control of power by APC in 2019, we also learnt that is the barrage of cases already filed against the ruling party in various courts across the country.

As at yesterday, it was gathered, the party’s national legal adviser, Dr Muiz Banire, SAN is contending with 17 suits, all of which are challenging the outcome of the recently held party congresses across the states. Judgments from some of the suits, it was learnt, may have adverse effect on the outcome of the June 23 national convention and ultimately the party’s primaries ahead of 2019 polls.

The situation becomes more precarious due to lack of funds to hire external lawyers who will support Banire to diligently defend the party.

nPDP committing treason

No doubt, the impact of the activities of the nPDP is already being felt in the appropriate quarters. This explains why the party leadership and the presidency held talks with leaders of the bloc last week. But the discussions, which border on the alleged marginalization of the group within the party and the government achieved nothing, a source who attended the meetings told this paper. “Vice President Osinbajo has no power to offer nPDP anything, the best he could do was to take note of our requests and take same to the president”, the source added. A former Deputy Director of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Council, Engr. Mohammed Lawal, who is deeply involved in the re-election project of the president has however accused the nPDP leaders of trying to disrupt the government of President Buhari, a move he said will be treated as treason.

“What the nPDP is doing is equal to sabotage and treason. APC is government and if CPC aspect of APC pulls out, if APGA aspect of APC pulls out, if ACN aspect of APC pulls out, what remains? We agreed that APC is the ruling party, and it is the government, so, it amounts to treason. They should be careful in what they are doing.

“During former President Goodluck Jonathan, it was the PDP revolting against itself. PDP was not composed of the elements the way we have it now, so you cannot expect the same disruption to government in terms of treason as I’m pointing out now. So, they should put their patriotic cap to know what they are trying to do”, he said in an exclusive interview with TRACK NEWS.

I’m bothered about Benue IDPs

One of President Buhari’s associates who was one of the nPDP leaders prior to the 2015 elections, Senator JKN Waku, however, declined to comment on the 2019 polls intrigues tearing the APC into pieces.

According to him, “I’m bothered at the moment about the displacement of people in my community in Benue. I have over 3,000 IDPs in my private residence in Makurdi, those fleeing herdsmen attacks in my community. That’s why I’m not ready to comment on any national political issue now.”

Who is Mr. Foye Adeniyi?

Mr. Foye Adeniyi is a man that is committed to service and excellence. He grooved into community development and service to humanity. He believes so much in service. He loves to work for his people and to serve his people’s in whatsoever ability that will bring advancement to their lives. He also tries to ensure that things are done right, and doing this, he seeks for excellence in all that he wants to do. So that, this can be handed over to the next generation of people who really want to imbibe that culture of service to humanity.

Can you please tell us your background?

Foye is still a young man, born into the popular Foye family (the family of Baba Alo Elebi) of blessed memory. Whom I looked up to so much, Oshoniyi family is my mother side, they are both from Iwopin, Ogun Waterside. They are the one, who cultured the Foye Adeniyi, that you see today. Foye is actually a product of his parent’s upbringing. He attended Local Government (LG) Primary school, Iwopin, Ogun Waterside. For secondary education, he went to the Saint Kizitos High School, Iwopin and Ilushin Grammar School, Ilushin, Ogun Waterside. I later proceeded to the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo State for the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Creative Art.

There is something peculiar about my journey.

• I was the Students Union Speaker at the Polytechnic of Ibadan.
• The President, National Association of Ogun Waterside Students (NAOWS) .
• The Secretary, Ogun State Students Polytechnic Ibadan.
• The Public Relation Officer (PRO), Ijebu Students Association.
• The Vice President, Department of Fine Art.
.• The Chairman, Elders Forum Faculty of Environment.
• The Chairman, Electoral Committee Faculty of Environment.
• The Chairman, Electoral Committee Department of Graphics and Printing Technology.

I started work with a private company in Lagos, where I worked for fifteen years, before I established my personal company for further experience and exposure. Thus, I think when God is preparing you for a task, he takes you through that kind of channel. I am also happily married with children.

Innitial attempt into Politics?

Going to Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo State, also prepared me for politics. I felt that I could contribute to the development of my area, politics for me, therefore was not just sitting on the fence and do nothing. I have experienced both sides and I have seen that politics is what we all have to participate in, if our villages and towns must develop.

How did you emerge as CDC/CDA Chairman?

It is just God’s providence because the leaders of the community believe in me and they felt that I was just the right person for the post. Thought, I contested for the House of Assembly seat in 2015 but, I had to step down my ambition as a sign of loyalty and honour for the party leaders, the progress and development of Ogun Waterside remained second to none in my agenda as I had never for once been inactive or passive in addressing the issues relating to my people. I was however, not discouraged. With this mindset, I felt it was time to prove what I could actually do. I thank the leaders of Ogun Waterside for this gesture.

Tell us the positions you have headed?

• I was the Chairman, CDC, Iwopin, Oni, Alo and Olojumeta till date.
• The CDA Chairman, Iwopin till date.
• The Chairman, All Social Association in Iwopin (Iwopin Social Club of Nigeria) till date.
• Managing Director, Facebrandez, Lagos
• The Chairman, Building Committee, Mowekekere Central Mosque, Ikorodu till date.

Finally, what would you like to be remembered for?

What is important to me is to lay a very strong foundation. I love to be remembered for giving people’s the foundation that benefits them. The concept of Assembly post, for me, is not to depend, fully, on government to supply all that we need. What House of Assembly means, is to work in partnership with the companies and communities in the development and actualization of projects and equally partnering with Non-governmental Organizations in providing services to the good of Ogun Waterside.

No Shaking.
We are miles ahead.
Foye Adeniyi is their headache and it is quite uncurable. Victoria Anscert

"Close Your Eyes": Odunlade Caught Looking At Curvy Actress, Omo Butty’s Cleavage In Hilarious Photo

Odunlade Adekola is renowned to be one of the funniest Nigerian actors. His facial expression and actions often portray him to be a comedian whose only job is to crack ribs.

The actor is also said to be one of the most versatile in the industry as he takes on different roles and acts them out quite effortlessly.

Odunlade is also very free and jovial with his fellow actors in the game and often uses them to catch fun. This latest photo of him and an actress, Omo Butty proves that point.

In the photo, Odunkade, is ‘caught’ staring right at the actress’ cleavage with his eyes wide open as he does that. The actress, who shared it herself on Instagram, does not look bothered in the photo, but in her caption, she jokingly told the actor to “close his eyes”.

REINFORCING THE BELIEF [Being text of address delivered by Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) at a Press Conference heralding the birth of a new dawn; holding at the Oke-Ona hall of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Friday 1st June, 2018]

REINFORCING THE BELIEF
[Being text of address delivered by Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) at a Press Conference heralding the birth of a new dawn; holding at the Oke-Ona hall of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Friday 1st June, 2018]

Protocols:
1. Distinguished guests, eminent political figures, leaders of thought, political associates, my immediate family members, members of the fourth estate of the realm, well-wishers, ladies and gentlemen. I welcome you all to this press conference convened to intimate the good people of Ogun state and Nigerians in general, about what for me, constitute another watershed in my political career which has spanned the last fourteen years.
2. Today takes on added significance for two reasons. First, it is a sober day because we are disembarking a course that has witnessed many twists and turns; some pleasant, some not too pleasant. Secondly, today represents a paradigm shift as we are charting a new path that is not only full of shinning potentials but one that affords us the unhindered expression of our values and beliefs; for there is no greater misfortune than can befall any man than the inability to give vent to his innate desires.
3. I titled this brief address ‘Reinforcing the Belief’ because my political trajectory thus far has been founded on my personal belief in many ideals on how a decent society should evolve relative to the growth of its people. I and my team have in the course of this journey taken many decisions that have birthed different results; but in all, I thank God for where we are today. Two matters have largely defined my political career thus far; the first being that I have contested to be governor of Ogun state on two occasions and that naturally raised a lot of issues; some within and some outside my control. The second is that within this period also, I have had reasons to traverse different political platforms and alongside this comes political gladiators I worked with and the experiences from it.
4. It is important that I situate political journey within context. I came into public office in 2004 when the opportunity beckoned to serve as the Group Managing Director of Gateway Holdings Limited, the state’s investment management company. That was a PDP administration which did its best to awaken the social and economic situation of the hitherto sleepy state.
5. You all recall I aspired and emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2011 but intraparty politics thwarted that mandate. Our group, upon wide consultation, moved into the PPN, where I contested the 2011 election as its gubernatorial candidate. After the 2011 election, we took the next few months to reflect on what was and what could have been. We concluded that the PPN was a necessary vehicle that served a purpose at a time and may not necessarily carry us into the future. The outcome of that reflection and further consultations culminated in our group joining the Labour Party which we built into a virile platform until fate decided otherwise.

6. Towards the end of 2014, the evolving national conversation dictated that political parties needed collaborations and realignments of political interests; the outcome of which eventuated our move back to the PDP where I later on emerged its governorship candidate and contested the main elections. While these matters are well documented and now confined in the historical portmanteau of posterity, I can in all of these say that the decision to make those platform changes were circumstantial and indeed got one to reflect on the challenges of political parties, their processes and the need for far-reaching reforms that bother on internal democracy and respect for extant rules of engagement. From the totality of my experience, some of the lessons further learnt are that:
Notwithstanding personal convictions, the need to show good faith to diverse political interests and serve group objectives are always prevalent; and that contradiction oftentimes does not help the polity.
Politicians and political parties must imbibe the desire to always reinforce the truth and promote equity, fairness and justice as abiding parts of our democratic culture.
We also must, as of necessity promote values and cultivate the moral conviction needed to follow the noble path and reject what contradicts personal principles and beliefs.
The need to ensure strong electoral platform capable of delivering our goals is beyond mere fight for structure control; therefore, common goals that is crafted in an ideology may be the way out of that challenge.
Above all, the idea of party supremacy may still be far-fetched in our clime even though it is the way to go; nevertheless, the institution called political parties must be strengthened to de-emphasize party ownership and control by an individual.

7. After having chronicled my political experience in order that they are situated appropriately for future referencing and the lessons derivable from it, I must at this juncture pass my sincere gratitude to everyone that has contributed to the journey so far, chief among who are the former ogun state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator (Prince) Buruji Kashamu; for their support at decisive times. My extensive appreciation also goes to several personalities (too numerous to mention) that supported me in one way or the other over the years. I wish everyone well in their different political and other endeavours.

8. Ladies and gentlemen, what does the future hold for me? After the 2015 election, I reflected on our politics relative to the BELIEVE philosophy that we have propagated for about a decade and discovered that this philosophy needs to be reinforced with new ingredients around the central theme of VALUES. This became important because, the current political system is glaringly corrupted and broken. It is bereft of right values and subscription to good democratic ideals. The political parties, especially the major ones have proven to be huge disappointments and incapable of enhancing the socioeconomic welfare of Nigerian citizens.

9. Consequently, I and my team interrogated this failure and concluded that the total collapse of values and morals in our national fabric have contributed to this national decline. The result of our inquest nudged us to create a Movement that is today called The Believe Movement (TBM); a sociopolitical and advocacy group geared towards values orientation, mass mobilization for civic responsibility, socioeconomic intervention for the less privileged and promotion of good governance. For us, these ingredients reinforce our beliefs that society can be better than what presently obtains and that the people can achieve their God-ordained potentials given the right environment.

10. I am pleased to inform that since its official launch in December 2016, the Movement has gone about its goals in a most focused manner and today records over 200,000 strong people of Ogun state who have fully subscribed to the message that things can be done differently. We are daily inculcating our people with orientation that has elevated their values, character and integrity. They have also embraced the principle of delayed gratification which entails that they prefer to reject inducement by dishonest politicians who offer only temporary enjoyment – in favour of more enduring dividend of good governance. Beyond the promotion of the objectives of this movement, we recognized from the outset that the ultimate goal is to use governance to drive those laudable objectives and which means that The Believe Movement will be politically affiliated at some point in the future – if it must meet its goal of ensuring good governance.

11. I was all the more glad when in recognition of the failed system, the national conversation shifted to having mass movements of the people towards national emancipation. The major one was broached by our father, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, which is the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM). There is the other one, Nigerian Intervention Movement (NIM) and others like Red Card Movement and Save Nigeria Movement. I was also present when former President Olusegun Obasanjo alongside other patriots, did symbolic registration as CNM members. My open identification and registration also, was because I believe in the objectives of CNM as a national movement having been promoting a similar movement in Ogun State over a year earlier.

12. We again note that the former president stated emphatically that the CNM will eventually empty into a political party (after which he will personally take a back seat). Further to the foregoing and very recently, the CNM in conjunction with other stakeholders adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the preferred platform to restore the dignity of Nigerians. I must at this point salute the former president who is a great Nigerian and true African Statesman for his patriotism, vision, leadership and courage – to chart this path for us all. As he takes a back seat deservedly, the challenge has been thrown to us all to keep the vision alive and run with it till Ogun state and Nigeria becomes a better place for all. I urge that we kindly give him a rousing applause in absentia.

13. You all recall that on 24th May 2018, I resigned my membership of the PDP due to the perennial and intractable crisis which has festered to an extent where the hope of reconciliation continues to dim inexorably; especially in Ogun state. More importantly, the party did not offer a veritable podium for us to propagate the good ideals of TBM; and for me that makes the party irredeemable. Having correctly exited the PDP, our movement has fully crystallized meeting most of its objectives and now needs to affiliate with a political party that shares the same values with it. Friends, I am again on the threshold of positive history. It was Dante Alighieri who in his famous tripartite epic poem said that, “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in the period of crisis maintain their neutrality”. Another great icon, Martin Luther King (Jnr) could not but agree with Dante when he echoed that, “I agree with Dante, that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality”. Luther King then added, “There comes a time when silence becomes betrayal”.
14. For me, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, having come this far, I cannot afford to betray my supporters, the people of Ogun State and my generation; hence my new platform decision. I have received the inspiration of God and having extensively consulted my political associates, friends, supporters, important stakeholders, well-wishers, voices on the streets and my immediate family, I formally announce and declare my membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC); effective today 1st june, 2018. I also have the approval of the Board of Trustees of TBM to announce the adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by the The Believe Movement.
15. The ADC is the third force that is morally conscripted to offer Nigerians an escape route from the failed promises of the status quo and the party that connects across Nigeria today, most movements and people who believe that we must depart from the worn out system of mediocrity, cronyism and corruption; which the APC and PDP represent. We have elected to align with a platform that is devoid of the entrenched retrogressive politics and which believes in the dignity of citizens and human capital development – as the fundamental focus of its governmental imperatives. While we recognize that party is not yet a finished product and will continue to fine-tune its processes, we have the conviction that we can use the ADC platform to reinforce our believe:

That our people can enjoy a better, happy and contended life given the human resources and natural endowment of our state – Through values-driven governance.
That good, accountable and people-centred governance is achievable if there is sincerity of purpose by those entrusted with power which will restore trust and confidence of the masses.
That we can initiate new ways of thinking that aligns our systems and processes such that government is organized to work; and transform our economy to one driven by team work, knowledge and technology.
We believe that we can reform our political system to enable it become ideologically driven, properly managed and people-oriented; in order to assist our people’s electoral choice based on sound criteria like Character, Capability, Courage, Integrity, Sincerity of Purpose.
We believe that the trust and confidence in the government by the governed is the key driver of participatory democracy; therefore we must ensure equitable distribution of opportunities and developmental initiatives across our communities without discrimination or undue preference.
Undoubtedly also, we can put our dear state and nation at large on the path of peace, opportunity, equity and prosperity for generations to come.

16. All of the above is what we hope to use this new platform to achieve. I urge every Ogun State citizen and Nigerians in whole to join the ADC today as the only credible alternative. The road has been rough, the journey has been tortuous but the end will be soothing and give everyone a life of abundance. I remain committed to pushing this agenda to its actualization. Finally, we must all convince ourselves to do the right thing that will help our society; for Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”. The battle to give our new party a head start will be tough, but we must be convinced in our mind to give it all it takes in order to obtain the price. Victory is always possible for he who refuses to stop fighting.

17. Today, our belief has been reinforced and we can be optimistic of a better tomorrow. I thank you all for listening and wish us safe return to our respective destinations. Ogun state and Nigeria shall be great again. I Believe.

ADC…..Arise !
ADC…..Arise !!
ADC…..Arise and shine Nigeria !!!

BREAKING: Buhari signs Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill into law

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday signed the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill into law.

Buhari signed the bill into law at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, barely two days after he promised to do so.

The law reduces the age qualification for president from 40 to 30; governor from 35 to 30; senator from 35 to 30; House of Representatives membership from 30 to 25 and State House of Assembly membership from 30 to 25.

In his Democracy Day address on Tuesday, the President had promised to sign the bill into law “in a few days’ time.”

The National Assembly had passed the bill last year, altering sections 65, 106, 131, 177 of the Constitution to reduce the constitutional age requisition for president from 40 to 30; that of the governor from 35 to 30; senator from 35 to 30; House of Representatives membership from 30 to 25 and State House of Assembly membership from 30 to 25.
