House of Representatives Aspirant Rounds off Free Medical Outreach in Ado-Odo Town

It was with joy and enthusiasm that the people of Ado-Odo Town trooped out in their numbers to benefit from the Free Medical Outreach organised by the Asiwaju Campaign Team. The outreach which started on the 24th of September and ended on the 27th benefited about 500 persons in the two political wards in Ado Town.

The medical personnels attended to people in three major locations in the town including Oke Oyinbo, Oja Ale & Oke Padre.

According to Asiwaju Abayomi Oke, a frontline Aspirant under Accord Party for Federal House of Representatives; “our objective is not to score cheap popularity but to sincerely cater for the health of our people. This initiative is in response to the request of our people in that axis. I was told that because of the nature of job they do, blood pressure and blood sugar is a major health concern and thus need to be addressed swiftly. In view of this, we partnered with Ronye Life Consults, a reputable Health Care organisation which is renowned for offering preventive health care to carry out check up & also provide medications where necessary. Most importantly, information about healthy living was also shared so as to forestall reoccurence of treated ailment or prevent them from falling sick. This outreach was equally supported by RCCG OGUN 10 PROVINCE”.

Some community leaders and beneficiaries of the initiative commend Asiwaju & his party ACCORD for caring so much about the people’s health. They further said, this initiative shows that the Aspirant and his party are more concerned about the people and not just to reap votes by sharing money.

Asiwaju Abayomi Oke plans to represent Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the National Assembly from 2019 under Accord Party. He is currently the youngest aspirant and appears to be the most vibrant. He recently empowered about 200 youths who learned different skills and talent during Summer under a programme he called SKATA (Skill and Talent Academy). Asiwaju has been a youth development crusader and good governance advocate and famous for helping the youths discover and groom their potentials. He is a media & entertainment entrepreneur and a public speaker.

SARAKI A BETTER REPLACEMENT TO BUHARI

Since the public declaration of His Excellency, Senate President Bukola Saraki, for the office of the Presidency, the Grow Nigeria message, the official campaign slogan of his campaign has taken over the social media space as several young people have taken to social media to express their support for the message and Senator Bukola Saraki. The accompanying slogan, “Follow who sabi road” has also broken the internet.

The Grow Nigeria Narrative offers a unique leadership driven by empathy where leaders are responsive to the citizens, a leadership where they know that the government cares.

The message emphasizes on inclusion in all aspects of the country’s affairs, finding solutions, not trading blame and focuses on growing Nigeria out of poverty by actively stimulating the growth the private sector, regional economic specialisation and human capacity development.

Grow Nigeria offers a government characterised by youthful energy, innovation and a pioneering entrepreneurial spirit. It commits to provide opportunities and funding pathways for youth who have ideas and capacity as a way of creating employment and building on the Made in Nigeria.

It commits to securing Nigeria by redesigning the national security architecture with a special focus on community policing while adequately equipping and improving the welfare for the personnel security agencies to fulfil their primary role of protecting lives and property.

Dr Saraki’s Grow Nigeria plan seems to address infrastructural deficit by developing local capacity for design, construction and maintenance of core projects, especially road, rail and power. Among others, Dr Saraki’s growth plan will consider the fight against corruption as crucial to Nigeria’s economic development and will focus on strengthening institutions, with a particular focus on deterrence.

Nominate Bukola Saraki, Save PDP, Redeem Nigeria

The People’s Democratic Party will hold its national convention on the 6th of October 2018, twenty years after its first national convention in Jos in 1998. Just as it was twenty years ago, PDP is faced with an important task that will redefine PDP, save Nigeria from tyranny and misrule that has succeeded in making Nigeria the poverty capital of the world.

The October 6th 2018 PDP National convention offers PDP, a chance to correct its mistakes and renew itself or whether it will continue on a path of decline.Together, as PDP members and supporters of Bukola Saraki for president, we are working to build a united and strong party.

We are campaigning for the election of a leader that has been through the storm. Survived all the attacks against him to emerge the leader of the opposition and give PDP a life line. A leader that has the commitment, doggedness to take the battle to the enemy camp and defeat the enemy, one who has unrivalled capacity to achieve, a bridge builder and a leader who is ready to effectively lead the reorganization of Nigeria and grow our economy again. For these reasons, we are calling on PDP members to nominate and elect Bukola Saraki as the next President of Nigeria.

We are calling on PDP to make the right choice as the 6th of October draws closer. Bukola Saraki represents hope and PDP will win in 2019 with him.  He is PDP best choice and we cannot  afford to waste our best chance at the presidency and gamble with old politicians who can’t win their wards. Bukola Saraki is a unifier and a builder. He has always promoted unity and cohesion. He was pivotal in the formation of the 8th national assembly and made sure that PDP still got the position of the deputy senate president. He is competent and capable.

In every role he has undertaken, Bukola Saraki has demonstrated great skills and ability. He has been successful as a business leader, governor and senate president. He has an excellent understanding of the economy and governance. He was the governor of Kwara State for 8 years and changed the face of governance in Kwara State, embarking on far reaching reforms across the health, educational, agriculture and other key sectors that enhance the lives of the people. He was the leader of Nigeria governors forum, providing key leadership for governors across Nigeria at a young age.

PDP will bounce back to winning ways with Bukola Saraki, as he will accelerate the process of meaningful radical economic transformation that will put Nigeria on the path of progress and change the narrative that has led Nigeria to be the poverty capital of the world. As a committed leader, Bukola Saraki will go beyond slogans and rhetoric to undertake the practical tasks that will transform the economy, while ensuring that it grows at a much faster rate and creates jobs that will make life better for Nigerians.

As Nigeria’s economic ambassador, he will not demarket Nigeria on the global stage like Muhammadu Buhari. He will take decisive steps to restore investor confidence, attract the needed foreign direct investment that made it possible for him to build the Shonga Farm in Kwara as the then state governor.

Bukola Saraki as an outstanding legislator and current senate president possess the ability to embark on far reaching reforms.  Under his leadership as the senate president, the 8th senate has passed more bills than any previous senate, it has resolved more petitions than all past senates combined, it supported and passed the Not Too Young To Run bill, opened the NASS budget for public scrutiny; it concluded the Constitution amendment and passed the petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) which seeks to provide for the governance and institutional framework for a renewed and transparent petroleum industry.

Specifically, the PIGB seeks to unbundle the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), provide for the establishment of Federal Ministry of Petroleum Incorporated and Nigerian Petroleum Regulatory Commission. Sadly, President Buhari failed to assent to this bill. According to global extractive industry watchdog, publish what you pay, (PWYP), Nigeria is losing N3 trillion annually for failing to put in place a proper legislation for the oil and gas industry.

Bukola Saraki understands the issues and is not a blamer and excuse giver. He will truly lead from the front and change the narrative about Nigeria and our great party PDP. The choice for PDP delegates is to make history with Saraki and nominate him as the party’s flag bearer come 6th October 2018.

POLITICS Tinubu: I have medicine to defeat godfather terrorising Lagos – Saraki

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has promised to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, produces the next governor of Lagos State.

Speaking during his meeting with PDP delegates at the party’s secretariat yesterday, Saraki said he has “the medicine of the man who regards himself as godfather terrorising Lagos State.”

Saraki, a PDP presidential aspirant, said, “What you have been fighting for many years, you will have it during the coming election because you now have somebody that has intention and charisma to deal with those disturbing you.

“I have a medicine of the man who regards himself as godfather terrorising Lagos State. We have their formula, come next year, PDP will take over Lagos.”

The Senate President also warned Nigerians to be mindful of presidential aspirants promising to restructure Nigeria, if elected president.

He said: “Many aspirants will tell you that they will restructure Nigeria, but don’t let them deceive you because restructuring is not something only a president can do because certain laws also need to change.

“So you need a president that has political sagacity to carry people along. But there are very few aspirants today that possess such charisma. Once I assume office, I will devolve more powers to the state”

RE: FANIBE’S SUSPENSION : A GAME OF ABSURDITY PLAYED BY A BUNCH OF IGNORAMUSES

The alleged removal or suspension of the Accord Osun State chairman,  Otunba Ayodele Segun Fanibe  orchestrated by a pocket of  state working committee  and some acting local chairmen of the party  could not be better described than a game of absurdity played by a team of the ‘unaware’ who are ignorant of the position of the law on such unconstitutional adventure they ignorantly embarked upon. It’s just a ruse. It can’t hold. It’s illegal.

Such an action is a calculated attempt to distabilise the party. It was reliably gathered that Fanibe ‘s refusal to join the few executive members in sharing the balance of little proceeds from the sale of governorship intent forms and failure to join them in selling the party to a bigger one culminated in conspiring against him.

“They asked me to share the balance of little money we realised during the recently conducted governorship  primary election but I disagreed with them categorically just because we still have a lot of expenses to incurre in the course of governorship electioneering campaign,” Fanibe explained.
He further said, “some unprogressive elements among the  state executives in conjuction with a pocket of acting local chairmen have been struggling to negotiate with another party and share the proceeds among themselves at the expense of thousands of innocent members but I rather encouraged them to work with me and other positive minded members to win the governorship election for the party. If I agree with them to sell the  party now,  it will definitely jeopardize the chances of all our aspirants in the forthcoming elections come 2019. It’s logical. That’s my sin, indeed nothing more. Selling the party at this of in point in time has been their usual business. I joined the party in 2016 to contest the bye election into Ife Central House of Assembly and since then I never relent in promoting it. I won’t allow them to frustrate my efforts as God and majority of our members are on my side,  they appreciate the good work I’m doing to promote the party.”

Before Fanibe joined Accord, the party was nonexistent in the state. Fanibe used his own resources to uplift the party to an enviable height. Out of his personal income, he paid for the state party secretariat in Osogbo, paid for  almost all the ward and local party offices across the state. He single-handedly financed the first  state congress as there was no congress for the past nine years. He raised funds to organize the first ever state submit. He travelled overseas to shop for three governorship aspirants. In the past, Accord has never participated in governorship election. With conceited efforts of Otunba Fanibe and few progressive minded members of the party, 56 councillorship candidates contested last January local government election while he has succeeded in convincing aspirants to contest for Osun East senatorial seat, two for House of Representatives and six for State Assembly across Ife/Ijesa senatorial district under the platform of Accord.

According to one of the Accord national Executives in Abuja, “such a move lacks constitutional justifications in all ramifications.”

The perpetrators of such ignoble assignment failed to put the following conditions into consideration:
The constitutional procedure on how to remove a party chairman.
The constitutionally required number of members needed to carry it out.
Who is expected to call for such a meeting.
The minimum members of State Working Committee required to sign the paper.
Was their any letter of enquiry before the suspension?
Do acting chairmen have constitutional rights to participate in the process of removing a state chairman confirmed by congress?

It is so ridiculous that none of the conspirators discerned that  such a move is an exercise in futility as none of the constituted chairmen is being recognized by the National Independent Electoral Commission or have their names registered in the Accord register both at the state and national levels.

Sadly, this is another attempt to scuttle the progress of the party in order to discourage all intending aspirants who are warming up to contest in different capacities such as senator, member House of Representatives and State House of Assembly in February 2019 general elections. Imagine such a bid at the time when primary elections are a week away. None of those who signed the suspension paper has anything to loose. No one is contesting for any offices from their areas.

Signed:
Aare Tunde Dawood-Akerele
Accord Osun Publicity Secretary
